From its modest beginnings with a single store in Detroit, Happy’s Pizza has always been committed to giving back to the community that made its success possible. In 2015, this commitment deepened when Happy’s Pizza teamed up with Elevate Detroit, a Michigan-based nonprofit, to support those in need throughout the city they’ve called home for over 19 years.

More than just delivering the best pizza in town, Happy’s Pizza aims to serve the people in some of the best cities across the country. On a chilly Saturday in September, Happy’s Pizza partnered with Elevate Detroit for the first time to provide meals for approximately 200 homeless men, women, and children. The event highlighted a shared belief: good food has the power to bring people together, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Elevate Detroit, a network of volunteers from Metro Detroit, has been dedicated to feeding those in need for over eight years. Though different in nature, Happy’s Pizza and Elevate Detroit are united by a common purpose: to strengthen communities, provide nourishing meals, and extend a helping hand to those who need it most.

Since that first event, Happy’s Pizza has donated 50 pizzas every month to Elevate Detroit locations in Detroit, Pontiac, Flint, and Mt. Clemens. This partnership has provided consistent support to hundreds of individuals and families struggling with food insecurity, particularly during the harsh winter months. Last December, in the spirit of giving, Happy’s Pizza went a step further by donating new, down-filled coats to Elevate Detroit’s community members as a special Christmas gift.

Whether it’s food, clothing, or shelter, Happy’s Pizza believes in the power of action to create meaningful change. Their commitment to building stronger communities through partnerships like Elevate Detroit is at the heart of what they do. Because for Happy’s Pizza, being part of a community means more than serving great food—it means serving the people who call it home.

GIVING BACK BY HELPING THOSE IN NEED

Detroit-based Happy’s Pizza is proud to partner with Elevate Detroit to host a community cookout, providing meals to approximately 200 homeless men, women, and children in Detroit. This heartfelt event takes place on Saturday, September 5th, at 1 p.m., located at 3000 Fort St., Detroit, coinciding with National Cheese Pizza Day—a fitting celebration of giving back and sharing the love of pizza.

Happy’s Pizza is committed to supporting local communities, and this event underscores the company’s dedication to making a positive impact. By working alongside Elevate Detroit, the goal is to not only serve food but to also foster hope and connection for those in need.

HAPPY’S PIZZA PARTNERS WITH DETROIT POLICE TO PROVIDE 2,000 MEALS DAILY

Happy’s Pizza joined forces with the Detroit Police Department to serve 2,000 meals a day across various precincts during a four-week initiative in June and July. The effort was aimed at supporting officers and their communities, showcasing a strong partnership between Happy’s Pizza and local law enforcement.

EXTRA COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY!

We know dealing with COVID-19 is stressful and difficult. At Happy’s Pizza, we understand your concerns and we’re here for you. We want you to feel confident that you can enjoy Happy’s Pizza, feed your family, and feel safe.

Happy’s Pizza has been safely providing food to our communities since 1994. Cleanliness and safety have always been a top priority. With updated guidelines released by the CDC for minimizing the risk and spread of COVID-19, we’re taking further steps to assure your safety.

For our store employees, we’ve implemented a strict policy as directed by the CDC, including the following:

Washing our hands often throughout the day with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

In between washings, we’re cleaning our hands with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

Wearing disposable gloves and switching them out between customers.

Employees who do not feel well have been instructed to stay home and seek medical advice if necessary.

We’re practicing social distancing tactics to help our customers and staff limit potential exposure to the virus.

Implementing more frequent deep cleanings by our staff.

When you order delivery, our drivers will be wearing disposable gloves that are replaced after each delivery. They’ve also been instructed to use minimal personal contact when delivering your food. If you’d like no contact at all, please don’t hesitate to ask. Our drivers can place your food at your door and step back to provide the appropriate social distance as recommended by the CDC. Helping your community is always the best way to spend one’s free time! What’s even better is when you find a way to help your community in a new and creative way; and that is exactly what Happy’s Pizza and What’s Up Detroit are doing!

What’s Up Detroit has created a new initiative for the people of Flint by providing paper products and disposable kitchenware to help reduce the need for water consumption. While Flint is still in need of water, by providing disposable kitchenware, the need for water to wash dishes (which families typically consume around three to five gallons of water per washing cycle) is extremely diminished. By using paper products, water can be used for more essential activities such as drinking, cooking, and bathing.

Happy’s Pizza is proud to continue our on going community engagement with local areas where we reside and work to better people’s lives through charitable donations, and by doing acts as little, but still equally important, as being a drop off location for this Flint Paper Products drive. It’s this type of innovation and thinking outside of the pizza box, that keeps us feeling like we here at Happy’s, and all of our loyal customers, are one big family; and this family is always looking for different ways to help our brothers and sisters in any way possible.
